School of Law brings innovative privacy education to middle school​

WUSTL law students have begun offering privacy and Internet safety education to local middle school students. Law students, under the supervision of WUSTL law professor Neil Richards, JD, are adapting a middle school curriculum for privacy education developed by Fordham Law School’s Center on Law and Information Policy.

Among prescription painkillers, drug abusers prefer oxycodone

A nationwide survey of opioid drug abusers in rehab indicates that because of the high it produces, the prescription painkiller oxycodone is the most popular drug of choice. Hydrocodone, also prescribed to treat pain, is next in line. In all, some 75 percent of those surveyed rated one of these drugs as their favorite.

Breaking down stress: Student volunteers on track to set free backrub record this semester

Stressbuster volunteers regularly provide free backrubs to WUSTL students, faculty and staff, and their next event is 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at Olin Library. In the first segment of a  series looking at stress, the Record discusses the program.

Renowned jazz trio to play today

Jazz pianist Marc Copland is renowned for his dexterous lyricism. At 8 p.m. today, Dec. 6, Copland will join acclaimed bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Joey Baron for a performance in WUSTL’s 560 Music Center.

Bear Necessities, the nonprofit gift store operated by the Women’s Society of Washington University, will hold its annual holiday sale Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 10 and 11.

The WUSTL community can bring burned-out or unwanted holiday light strings to campus to be recycled. WUSTL sustainability officials are partnering with StLouisGreen.com and Operation Food Search on the initiative, which runs through Jan. 12.
